I was certified by the New York Pilates Studio® Teacher Certification Program under the tutelage of Romana Kryzanowska in 1998. I trained extensively with Pilates Elders Mary Bowen, Jay Grimes and Lolita San Miguel, as well as Master Teachers Bob Liekens, Sari Mejia Santo, Kathy Corey, Cary Regan, Blossom Crawford, Deborah Lessen and Steve Giordano. I am a PMA Certified Pilates Teacher and co-author of the book Pilates for Children and Adolescents and a contributing essay author of the book Voices of Classical Pilates. I have been featured in the Pilates book, The Pilates Method of Body Conditioning and have appeared and contributed articles to the Pilates Style Magazine. I am a "Distinguished Instructor" and “Legacy Curator” on Pilates Anytime as well as an Instructor on Pilatesology. These sites are both global online Pilates Studios, created for people all over the world to explore Pilates with highly skilled, well-trained instructors.

I travel all over the world and have held workshops in the United States, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, China, England, Finland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain and Switzerland. I have created a Pilates curriculum for children that is implemented in both private and public schools.

I hold a Masters of Arts in Dance Education from New York University Steinhardt School of Education, Culture and Human Development, as well as Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance from S.U.N.Y. Purchase College Conservatory of Dance. I have done a large amount of coursework in Anatomy and Biomechanics, training under Irene Dowd and Lynn Martin.

During my dance career, I danced for the Saeko Ichinohe Dance Company, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Stephan Koplowitz, Tarin Chaplin, Hemiko Minota, Renata Celichowska, Susan Koff and the Faun Dance Troupe. I am the Artistic Director and Choreographer of the Dance Company Brett Howard and Company, which I founded in 2001.
